Fishing Master Islands Unlock Guide

Starter through BN: NPC gates, Jungle ~40k, and Fossil legendary quests.

Last updated:

Islands

Islands are the world map of Fishing Master. Each zone has stronger fish, better sell potential, and NPC unlock costs. The community path runs Starter → Junk → Fossil → Volcano → Jungle (~40k) → BN. This guide explains what to expect on each island, which rod tier to bring, and how quests like Fossil’s legendary fish objectives fit the loop.

Pair island hopping with codes for coin boosts, farming tips for sell habits, and bosses and weather so storms do not strand you on the wrong water.

Unlock philosophy

Island access is gated by NPCs and coin (or quest) requirements, not by randomly walking into fog. Talk to unlock NPCs when you have the currency. If fish on a new island delete you, your rod or skills are underleveled—drop back one zone and farm. If the NPC is still locked, you need coins or quest completion, not a different fishing spot.

Fast Travel (Game Pass) shines once you own multiple islands and chase weather or bosses. Value ranking lives on the Players Hub.

Starter Island

Starter is the tutorial biome. Use it to learn how to catch fish: click damage, skill pacing, white HP finishes. Goals:

  • Redeem codes immediately.
  • Buy early Skill Master books with coins.
  • Bank toward Stone rod (~3k).
  • Unlock Junk as soon as the NPC allows.

Do not treat Starter as an AFK forever home. Move when Stone is online.

Junk Island

Junk is the first real step up in fish value and combat pressure. With Stone equipped, Junk becomes a comfortable farm for Iron savings (~12k). Watch inventory: sell on schedule so you can afford the next rod or the next island NPC.

Junk also teaches you to respect weather. A 10-minute weather window can change which fish appear and when bosses announce—see the weather guide before you ignore every storm.

Fossil Island

Fossil mixes stronger fish with legendary fish quest objectives from local NPCs. When a quest asks for a legendary catch, park on Fossil with a rod that can finish tough HP bars (Iron preferred for comfort). Completing legendary quests often matters more for progression than blindly skipping to Volcano with empty quest log.

Tips for Fossil:

  • Bring attached skills; white-line finishes matter more on tanky fish.
  • Unattach before any mid-quest rod swap so books are not destroyed.
  • Sell extras but keep quest-required fish until turn-in if the quest consumes them.

Cross-check aura choices on the tier list if gem spends are tempting mid-quest.

Volcano Island

Volcano raises combat intensity again. Come with Iron or better, stable finish skills, and an awareness of boss announcements. Volcano is a common place players overextend during weather: if a boss lands and your rod is borderline, leave, sell, and return rather than lose a full inventory session.

Use Volcano as a coin engine toward the Jungle unlock bank once Fossil quests are under control.

Jungle Island (~40k)

Jungle is the headline mid/late gate. Unlock costs land around 40,000 coins via its NPC—confirm the live price after patches noted on Updates. That number is why rod progression and farming tips stress 2x sell and disciplined selling.

Before paying ~40k:

  1. Own Iron (or stronger) so Jungle fish are catchable.
  2. Have Skill Master books attached and transferable safely.
  3. Prefer 2x sell if you buy only one pass.
  4. Know Fast Travel routes if you will bounce for weather/bosses.

After unlock, evaluate Golden Jungle rod timing. Fishing Jungle on a weak rod wastes the unlock you just bought.

BN Island

BN sits after Jungle in the progression chain. Treat it as late-game water for players with strong rods (Golden Jungle / Steel range), complete skill setups, and comfort with bosses. If BN fish shred you, return to Jungle farming rather than forcing clicks.

As new islands appear in updates, we will extend this list; until then, BN is the end of the documented path.

Suggested unlock order checklist

  1. Starter mastery + codes.
  2. Stone rod → Junk unlock.
  3. Farm Junk → Iron rod.
  4. Fossil unlock + legendary fish quests.
  5. Volcano unlock + weather practice.
  6. Bank ~40k → Jungle unlock.
  7. Golden Jungle / Steel evaluation → BN.

Between steps, skim Skills and Auras so gem auras do not eat currency meant for NPC unlocks.

Islands and Game Passes

  • 2x sell — speeds every unlock coin gate, especially Jungle.
  • Fast Travel — best after you own three or more islands.
  • 2x boss loot — pairs with weather boss routes across islands.
  • Auto Fishing — optional; still learn manual finishes for bosses.

Island progression in Fishing Master is a coin and quest ladder with combat checks at every rung. Unlock NPCs when ready, finish Fossil legendaries, bank honestly for Jungle, and only then push BN. If a new island NPC appears after a visit milestone update, return here after reading the latest notes on the Updates Hub.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the Fishing Master island order?

Starter, Junk, Fossil, Volcano, Jungle, then BN. Unlock each through NPCs and requirements rather than skipping freely.

How much does Jungle cost?

About 40,000 coins via its unlock NPC. Confirm in-game after patches, and farm with Iron plus strong sell habits first.

What is special about Fossil Island?

Fossil features legendary fish quests from NPCs. Complete those objectives with a rod that can finish tougher HP bars.

Which rod should I bring to Volcano?

Iron or better is the comfortable baseline. Weaker rods struggle when weather and bosses overlap.

Is Fast Travel worth it for islands?

Yes once you own multiple islands and chase weather or bosses. Early on, 2x sell usually helps unlocks more.
